Founded in 2024, members of this association include renowned Indian companies in the Indian malt whisky space like John Distillery, Amrut Distilleries, Radico Khaitan and Piccadily Agro. Together the present IMWA members account for a substantial part of the revenue generated from Malt whisky produced across the country.<\/p><p>It <strong>Intends<\/strong> to be the common\/unified voice for and ensure that Indian malt whiskies are respected around the world as the highest quality, authentic malt whiskies made.<\/p><p>Its <strong>Role<\/strong> will be to define the category \u2013 both domestically and internationally, in order to Preserve, Protect, Promote, educate and ultimately grow the global interests and profile of Indian malt whisky, our members and of the industry as a whole, by building strong relationships with all levels of government, policy and opinion makers, thereby strengthening the economy.<\/p><p>Its <strong>Vision<\/strong> is to redefine India\u2019s global prominence in the realm of authentic luxury and rich craftsmanship, while preserving the nation\u2019s artistic heritage. The industry aims to reshape portfolios and offer premiumization in the category as the unified voice of member companies, IMWA\u2019s vision is to work proactively and collaboratively with policy makers to frame equitable, reasonable and implementable regulatory &amp; technical standards, legislation, certification mark and share best practices to enhance the image of the industry as a responsible contributor to the economy, society and driver of sustainable and profitable growth of the industry.<\/p><p>The <strong>Mission<\/strong>\u00a0of the industry is also to produce high-quality malts that can compete with international brands. Advocacy<\/b><\/strong>: Advocate for the interests of single malt whisky companies in India at both national and international levels. This could involve lobbying for favourable policies and regulations, promoting Indian malt whiskies globally, and representing the industry in trade negotiations.<\/li><li><b><\/b><strong><b>Quality Standards<\/b><\/strong>: Establish and enforce quality standards for single malt whisky production in India. This <strong>could involve adhering to definitions, regulations, policies and certification standards<\/strong>, setting guidelines for ingredients, distillation processes, aging, labelling and traceability.<\/li><li><b><\/b><strong><b>Education and Awareness<\/b><\/strong>: Provide education and awareness opportunities for members. This could involve organizing workshops and seminars, providing resources for continuous learning, and fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among members.<\/li><li><b><\/b><strong><b>Sustainability Practices<\/b><\/strong>: Advocate for and implement sustainable practices in the production of malt whisky. This could involve promoting environmentally friendly distillation processes, waste management, and responsible sourcing of ingredients.<\/li><li><b><\/b><strong><b>Networking and Collaboration<\/b><\/strong>: Provide opportunities for networking and collaboration among member companies.
